Role summary

We're an early-stage startup looking for our Funding Business Excellence Lead to work closely with the founders and leadership team in driving business performance, financial planning, and strategic decision-making.

This role is responsible for analyzing company operations, financial performance, market opportunities, and growth initiatives while providing actionable recommendations to support sustainable growth and investor readiness.

What you'll own

Business Performance & Operational Excellence

• Monitor company performance, financial health, and key business metrics.
• Conduct business reviews and identify performance gaps, growth opportunities, and operational bottlenecks.
• Develop company-wide KPIs and ensure departmental execution aligns with business objectives.
• Recommend data-driven initiatives to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.

Financial Planning, Budgeting & Resource Allocation

• Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.
• Analyze financial performance, cash flow, profitability, and operational efficiency.
• Review departmental budgets, hiring plans, and resource allocation requests.
• Evaluate ROI on strategic initiatives, investments, and expansion opportunities.

Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence

• Support growth strategies, market expansion, partnerships, and new business initiatives.
• Monitor global technology, AI, SaaS, startup, and market trends.
• Analyze competitors, emerging business models, and industry developments.
• Provide strategic recommendations to support sustainable growth.

Risk Management

• Identify financial, operational, and market risks.
• Develop mitigation plans and performance safeguards.
• Support long-term business resilience and scalability.

Investor Relations & Executive Reporting

• Prepare investor updates, business performance reports, and strategic presentations.
• Support fundraising, due diligence, and investor communications.
• Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to leadership and investors.

Who we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Corporate Strategy, Chief of Staff, or high-growth technology startups.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, resource allocation, and business performance management.
• Ability to connect financial, operational, and market insights into actionable business recommendations.
• Deep interest in global technology, AI, SaaS, startup ecosystems, and emerging business trends.
• Highly proficient in leveraging AI tools to enhance research, analysis, reporting, productivity, and decision-making.
