Forward Deployed Engineer
AI agents are now writing and running code inside real products. That creates a hard infrastructure problem: every execution needs to be fast, isolated, scalable, and safe.
This company is building the runtime layer behind that shift. Its platform gives developers and AI teams access to secure cloud sandboxes through a simple API, allowing code to run in isolated environments without touching production infrastructure. Customers range from high-growth AI startups to major global engineering teams.
This role is based in Singapore and is open to candidates already there or open to relocating.
The Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will sit directly between the product and the technical customers building on top of it.
This is not a traditional support role. Customers will not just ask basic ticket questions. They will ask how to optimise sandbox performance, debug integrations, connect the platform into CI/CD pipelines, and understand what is possible across APIs, SDKs, CLI tooling, and AI coding environments.
You will be the person who can get on a customer call, understand the problem, reproduce the issue, write or read code where needed, and work with engineering to get to the right answer.
The role suits someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, customer-facing work, and the pace of an early-stage infrastructure company.
What You Will Be Doing
• Acting as the main technical contact for enterprise customers across the region.
• Supporting customers from onboarding through integration, adoption, and expansion.
• Reproducing and investigating customer issues across APIs, SDKs, CLI tooling, and sandbox infrastructure.
• Building minimal reproduction cases to help engineering teams identify root causes quickly.
• Helping customers integrate the platform into CI/CD pipelines, AI coding workflows, and agentic systems.
• Answering technical questions around performance, reliability, sandbox behaviour, and platform capability.
• Translating customer feedback into clear product and engineering context.
• Joining technical scoping calls with prospective enterprise customers.
• Spotting repeated customer issues and turning them into useful product feedback.
• Communicating clearly with developers, engineering leaders, and non-technical stakeholders.
What You Need To Succeed
• 3+ years in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, field engineering, developer advocacy, or senior technical support.
• Strong enough coding ability to read, write, debug, and reason through production-grade customer environments.
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, SDKs, and CLI tooling.
• Good understanding of containers, cloud infrastructure, Docker, sandboxing, or compute environments.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English.
• Comfortable managing multiple customer conversations without losing follow-through.
• Able to work well in a distributed, remote-first team.
• Interest in AI coding tools, agentic workflows, and developer infrastructure.
• The judgement to know when to solve something yourself and when to pull in engineering.
Nice To Have
• Experience with Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or cloud-native deployments.
• Background in developer relations, open source, or technical writing.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or database-related debugging.
• Experience in an early-stage or growth-stage developer tools company.
• Familiarity with logs, traces, metrics, and observability workflows.
• Exposure to GDPR or data residency requirements in enterprise software.
