Forward Deployed Engineer

Join EPAM as a Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build, and deliver production-grade AI systems, integrating advanced features and ensuring reliability, cost-effectiveness, and measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software solutions that incorporate AI tools and technologies
• Implement evaluation systems to validate, test, and monitor solution performance
• Integrate AI capabilities into client systems, ensuring reliability and scalability for enterprise use
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to refine solution designs and provide technical feedback
• Contribute to team knowledge and best practices through code reviews and internal sharing

Requirements

• Strong background in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with experience building solutions that leverage AI tools
• High proficiency in at least one core programming language such as Java, Python or .NET
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools, evaluation frameworks and modern technologies into complex software architectures
• Track record of successfully measuring, monitoring and improving overall system performance
• Strong background in pragmatic technology selection and clear communication regarding solution limitations and technical tradeoffs

Nice to have

• Experience fine-tuning or post-training open-weight models
• Background architecting or supporting distributed systems and ML infrastructure
• Demonstrated history of open-source contributions to AI tooling and community frameworks
