Job Description
You will provide forensic psychological services for both inpatients and/or outpatients within the psychiatric services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals. You will work closely with legal professionals, psychiatrists, and other specialists to evaluate individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic psychological assessments including intellectual, neuropsychological, and personality assessments, and provide evaluations for legal proceedings
- Provide expert testimony in court when required
- Conduct risk assessments for violence, recidivism, and public safety concerns
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care for forensic patients
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy
- Contribute to mental health promotion programmes and psychological duties within the institute's framework
- Provide training and consultations in forensic psychology
- Participate in or conduct research in forensic psychology and related fields
Requirements
Competency
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team
- Strong analytical and report writing skills with attention to detail
- Ability to maintain professional objectivity under pressure
Educational And Professional Requirements
- Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from an established university
- Preferably at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in forensic settings
- Accreditation, registration or licence for practice with an established or recognised psychological professional body will be an advantage
