The Fitness Coach is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the physical conditioning programme for the Singapore Premier League 1 and 2 players. The primary objective of the role is to ensure all professional players are physically fit, match-ready, and able to meet the demands of elite competition consistently throughout the season.
In addition, the Fitness Coach plays a key role in supporting the club's long-term player development by working closely with selected youth players (U17 and U19) who have been identified as part of the club's future pathway.
Key Responsibilities
1. Physical Preparation and Performance
- Plan and periodize team conditioning programme aligned with the training and match calendar
- Ensure all players maintain optimal fitness levels to perform at a professional standard throughout the season
- Deliver pitch-based and gym-based sessions focusing on strength, conditioning, speed, agility, and endurance
- Prepare players physically for match demands, including structured pre-training and pre-match activation routes
2. Match Readiness and Game Day Support
- Ensure players are physically prepared and primed for competition on match days
- Lead and deliver pre-game warm-ups and activation protocols
- Support in-game physical management (e.g. monitoring fatigue, advising coaching staff where needed)
- Oversee post-match recovery strategies to optimize turnaround for subsequent fixtures
3. Monitoring and Load Management
- Monitor player fitness, training loads, and overall physical readiness using appropriate tools and data
- Track and analyse performance metrics to inform training adjustments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date physical performance records for all players
4. Injury Prevention and Return-to-Play
- Work closely with coaching and medical staff to implement injury prevention strategies
