Our client is seeking Food Quality Engineer to oversee and enhance food quality and safety standards across operations. This role is crucial in ensuring product compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement in food safety and production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain food quality and safety systems in compliance with local and international standards (e.g. HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, GMP).
- Monitor and evaluate production processes to ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues and non-conformities.
- Perform internal audits, supplier audits, and support external audits by regulatory bodies or certification agencies.
- Establish and maintain quality control documentation, SOPs, specifications, and records.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and procurement teams to improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Oversee product testing, inspections, and validation activities, including raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
- Handle customer complaints related to quality and food safety, including investigation and resolution.
- Ensure compliance with food labeling, traceability, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on quality, hygiene, and food safety practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality performance monitoring.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of experience in food quality assurance, quality engineering, or food safety roles (experience level can be adjusted).
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with food manufacturing processes and quality control tools.
- Experience in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and strong commitment to food safety and quality.
- Proficient in MS Office experience with quality management systems (QMS) software is an advantage.
- Certification in HACCP or food safety is preferred.
