Job Description

Job Title: Food Processing Technician

Department: Cheese Production

Working Hours: 44 hours per week, 5 days.

Established in 1991, Gan Teck Kar is a privately-owned company started by food-loving folks who are passionate about bringing the finest products from all around the world. Our core business is the importation and distribution of premium food products to Singapore and Malaysia with business partners all around the Southeast Asian Region.


We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Cheese Production Technician to support our cheese processing operations. The role involves handling cheese slicing, shredding, packing, and ensuring all products meet quality and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cheese slicing, shredding, portioning, and packing according to production orders.
  • Operate cheese slicing and shredding machines safely and efficiently.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of slicing and shredding machines (e.g., clearing jams, adjusting blades, checking alignment, resetting sensors).
  • Ensure accurate weighing, labeling, and sealing of finished products.
  • Conduct basic quality checks on cheese (appearance, texture, weight consistency).
  • Prepare production materials and ensure all equipment is cleaned and sanitised before and after use.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area in accordance with food safety guidelines.
  • Assist in receiving and storing cheese blocks and production materials.
  • Maintain proper documentation for production records, batch numbers, and QC checks.
  • Support the production supervisor to meet daily production targets.
  • Follow HACCP, GMP, ISO, and SFA food safety requirements at all times.

Requirement:

  • NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience in food production or handling food machinery is an advantage (training will be provided).
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting cheese blocks, standing for long hours, and working in cold environments.
  • Meticulous, reliable, and able to follow SOPs closely.
  • Good communication skills with a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Willing to work on weekends & perform overtime when required.
