Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver high-quality laboratory services while driving operational targets and performance through effective KPIs.
- Manage, motivate, and develop laboratory and support teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leading problem-solving sessions and implementing Lean principles across operations.
- Ensure effective and consistent use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), continuously enhancing system efficiency and capability.
- Partner with the Managing Director and commercial team to develop new capabilities and support business growth initiatives.
- Manage operating costs in line with budgets, implement cost-saving initiatives, and plan annual CAPEX requirements.
- Ensure all laboratory systems and procedures comply with company standards, ISO/IEC 17025, Good Laboratory Practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Champion workplace health and safety, promoting a safety culture and proactive injury prevention.
- Collaborate with the SEA management team and support regional projects and initiatives.
- Support mergers and acquisitions activities, including integration of newly acquired laboratories.
- Escalate critical results, risks, and operational issues to the Managing Director in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Managing Director and HR to build a talent pipeline, identify high-potential staff, and implement training, development, and succession plans.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Food Laboratory Operational management
- Background in food microbiology or chemistry labs with deep knowledge of food testing methods and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated success in improving productivity and decreasing operational costs
- Ability to prioritize tasks, analyze complex problems, and guide an organization toward positive outcomes
- Excellent communication skills enable an efficient communication with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ethical standards, confidentiality and integrit
