Reporting to the Chief Engineer and/or Engineering & Sustainability Manager, the incumbent will support the daily operations, maintenance, and project coordination of Mechanical, Plumbing & Sanitary (P&S), Fire Protection, and Public Announcement (PA) systems within the facility.
The role involves participating in meetings and problem-solving discussions, and serving as the central point of contact for assigned programs and projects. The incumbent is expected to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to management, including escalation of issues that cannot be resolved at team level.
Key responsibilities include managing a team of technical officers, technicians, and vendors supporting Asset Enhancement Initiatives (AEI) and planning and scheduling maintenance activities across mechanical and fire protection systems. This includes ensuring proper upkeep and follow-up of equipment such as fire pumps, fire alarm panels, sprinkler and hydrant systems, smoke detectors, smoke extraction fans, fireman intercom systems, PA systems, plumbing and sanitary systems, water dispensers, potable and NEWater tanks and pumps, ejector pumps, and sump pumps.
The incumbent will ensure all maintenance works are executed in accordance with prescribed checklists, schedules, safety standards, and statutory requirements. They will also strategize and coordinate rectification works, ensuring timely completion within SLA/KPI requirements, while maintaining a standby vendor list for emergency response.
The role requires close collaboration with owners, users, contractors, and external agencies to deliver engineering solutions that meet operational requirements. The incumbent will utilize CMMS to track preventive maintenance, fault reports, corrective work orders, and perform trend analysis to support continuous improvement.
Additional responsibilities include reviewing technical drawings, supporting A&A and R&R projects, drafting quotations for minor and breakdown works, and ensuring seamless daily operations through in-house systems. The role also contributes to innovation, energy conservation initiatives, and process improvement projects, including Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies and adoption of new technologies in collaboration with relevant technology teams.
Any other duties assigned by the Senior Facilities Manager (SFM), Chief Engineer (CE), and/or Engineering & Sustainability Manager (ESM) will also form part of the role.
