About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the deployment, operational support, and customer success activities for our hardware solutions aboard vessels worldwide. This role demands strong project management, exceptional cross-functional coordination, and a customer-first mindset, ensuring seamless execution of deployment plans and post-deployment support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vessel Hardware Deployment & Project Execution
- Lead end-to-end deployment of hardware infrastructure across vessels.
- Manage project timelines, stakeholder expectations, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with suppliers, forwarders, port agents, and customer teams to ensure smooth installations.
- Develop and enforce onboard installation guidelines and checklists.
- Track and report project progress to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Present deployment processes and schedules directly to clients.
2. Operations & Team Management
- Lead internal teams including Operations Specialists, Logistics Coordinators, and Technical Support.
- Drive implementation and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures.
- Ensure timely status updates and performance tracking across projects.
- Maintain cost control by optimizing supply chain and logistics operations.
- Develop departmental reports and KPIs for senior leadership.
3. Customer Success & Relationship Management
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders through consistent and proactive communication.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and anticipating future needs.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to improve processes.
4. Supplier & Equipment Management
- Oversee hardware inventory and maintenance activities.
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance on quality, timeliness, and cost.
- Collaborate with procurement and logistics to support strategic sourcing and fulfillment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fleet operations, marine projects, or technical deployments.
- Strong project management experience with multi-stakeholder coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong customer-facing experience.
- Proficiency in using project management and CRM tools.
- Proactive and resourceful problem-solver.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized under pressure.
- Comfortable presenting to customers and internal leadership.
