Role Overview
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for chartering ships and managing vessel logistics to support Neptune's operations. This role ensures that the right vessels are secured, scheduled, and optimized for deployment of our robotic hull-cleaning services across global ports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ship Chartering: Source, negotiate, and secure charter agreements with vessel owners/operators to meet operational requirements.
- Contract Management: Oversee charter party agreements, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational terms.
- Logistics Coordination: Plan vessel schedules to align with client service needs and robotic fleet deployment.
- Cost Optimization: Monitor chartering costs and identify opportunities for savings while maintaining service quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with shipowners, brokers, and port authorities.
- Performance Tracking: Maintain records of vessel utilization, charter costs, and operational efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all chartered vessels meet international maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in ship chartering, fleet management, or maritime logistics.
- Strong knowledge of charter party agreements, maritime law, and port operations.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with global stakeholders.
