The Functional Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business requirements with technology solutions. This role works closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, documented, and translated into scalable, value-driven solutions within the financial services domain.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Work with Business Unit Specialists to elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements.
- Analyze current and future state business and operational processes to support transformation initiatives.
- Define detailed functional and non-functional requirements aligned with business and regulatory objectives.
- Conduct impact analysis for new initiatives, enhancements, and change requests.
- Manage requirement-related risks, dependencies, and scope changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Functional Design & Solution Alignment
- Translate approved business requirements into clear functional specifications for System Analysts and development teams.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability between business requirements, functional specifications, and solution design.
- Support solution alignment to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture, data standards, and financial systems.
Testing & Quality Assurance Support
- Review and validate test plans and functional test scopes prepared by testing teams.
- Support System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing activities.
- Assist in defect triage, prioritization, tracking, and resolution to ensure business readiness.
Stakeholder & Delivery Support
- Provide subject matter expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project delivery through requirement clarifications and solution walkthroughs.
- Contribute to change impact assessments and readiness activities.
Experience & Qualifications
- More than 15 years of experience in business analysis within financial services or banking environments.
- Strong experience with financial systems, data management, and finance-related platforms.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, documentation, and reporting.
- Experience working in complex, large-scale transformation or regulatory initiatives.
