Job Description
Mission & Impact
Reporting to the Head of Innovation Strategy & Planning, the FVP serves as a senior team member within a highimpact, SWATstyle transformation unit responsible for solving UOB's most complex crossfunctional challenges. The role leads deep diagnostic reviews across Business and Support Units, identifies structural root causes, and designs integrated, futureready services leveraging enterprise platforms, including AI/ML, data and analytics, workflow automation, integration/microservices, blockchain, tokenisation, and new capability-building services.
The FVP drives platform implementation, accelerates partner enablement, and ensures alignment with business strategy, technical readiness, and operational feasibility. The role also champions Innovation Academy programmes across the business units it supports.
This role advances UOB's evolution into a network-platform organization, where products, channels, partners, data, and technology converge to deliver intelligent, interoperable, and scalable services that unlock new enterprise value and ecosystem growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Platform and Network Services Growth
- Develop platform and ondemand service use cases with business units.
- Oversee strategic partner onboarding, ensuring platform reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Expand ecosystem connectivity and networkservice capabilities.
- Operate as Part of a SWATStyle Convergence Delivery Model
- Deploy rapidly into priority problem areas with a structured engagement and triage model.
- Lead rigorous diagnostic cycles, root cause analysis, process mining, systems mapping, stakeholder interviews, and datadriven assessments.
- Deliver endtoend remediation from assessment to prototype to rollout within compressed timelines.
- Build Reusable Enterprise Blueprints & Accelerators
- Transform recurring patterns into enterprise templates (reference architectures, process models, integration patterns, API/automation standards).
- Partner with technology and domain teams to industrialise reusable modules compliant with governance, risk, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Establish and maintain an organisational knowledge repository to scale best practices across markets.
- Orchestrate MultiDomain Innovation Group Capabilities
- Integrate AI, Data, Blockchain, Automation, and Developer Platform capabilities to deliver converged solutions.
- Establish unified design principles that eliminate fragmentation across squads.
- Ensure all solutions align with enterprise governance, security, and risk frameworks.
- Build and Operationalise Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and scale partnerships with fintechs and service providers.
- Implement structured onboarding, sandbox access, certification, datasharing, security assessments, commercial alignment.
- Cocreate partner roadmaps that extend the bank's networkservice capabilities.
- Incubate and Industrialise Emerging Technologies
- Lead experimentation cycles across AI, Data, and Blockchain.
- Mature successful prototypes into enterprisegrade services with robust documentation, governance, SLAs, and adoption pathways.
- Foster a Culture of Rapid Innovation & Modern Engineering
- Champion experimentation, systems thinking, and solutionoriented engineering.
- Coach teams in problem discovery, prototyping, storyboarding, and iterative delivery.
- Partner with Innovation Academy and HR to uplift skills in design thinking, AI literacy, agile delivery, and modern engineering.
- Shape FutureState Processes and Value Models
- Define crossdomain process flows, integration requirements, API/data standards, and interoperability structures.
- Develop value hypotheses tied to revenue, cost, risk, and experience outcomes, backed by baseline metrics.
- Produce HighQuality Enterprise Artefacts
- Convert workshop outputs into clear BRDs, process maps, user stories, business cases, and value scorecards.
- Ensure artefacts meet enterprise standards, are versioncontrolled, and are ready for delivery handover.
- Align Stakeholders and Drive Enterprise Execution
- Lead alignment forums across business, technology, risk, data, and governance stakeholders.
- Define ownership models, RACIs, guardrails, funding requirements, and delivery sequencing.
- Maintain execution momentum through structured governance, progress tracking, and transparent communication.
Qualifications
Core Experience
- 10+ years in technology, digital services, enterprise platforms, and largescale transformation.
- 5+ years leading highperforming crossfunctional engineering/transformation teams in complex enterprise environments.
- Proven success in enterprisewide transformation involving multiple business units, regulators, and ecosystem partners.
Technical & Domain Expertise
- Strong foundation in APIs, microservices, integration architecture, and eventdriven design; able to architect secure, scalable, interoperable service layers.
- Working knowledge of AI, data, blockchain, interoperability frameworks, and regulatory considerations.
- Handson proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js for prototyping and technology evaluation.
