Job Description
Job Summary:
The candidate will work with Head of Innovation Strategy and Planning in developing and executing strategies to enhance UOB's internal and external outreach. This role is pivotal in building high-impact partnerships, driving digital engagement, and leveraging innovation labs to position UOB as a forward-thinking leader in the banking industry. The successful candidate will champion innovation adoption across the bank, fostering collaboration with colleagues, clients, and industry bodies, positioning UOB as a progressive bank committed to improving banking experiences and profitability through innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic alliances with key stakeholders, including local corporate clients, investors, industry bodies, innovation labs and Institutes of Higher Learning and associations like the Digital Assets Association
- Drive co-creation initiatives with partners to pilot and scale innovation solutions
- Build and nurture long term relationships with external stakeholders to support UOB's innovation agenda and strengthen its ecosystem influence
- Collaborate with other UOB functions (eg Private Banking) and to align partnership strategies with UOB's innovation goals, ensuring measurable business outcomes
Digital Engagement And Outreach :
- Develop and Increase participation in thought leadership activities, including speaking engagements, innovation showcases to promote UOB's innovation initiatives across regional and global platforms.
- Develop communication strategies and leverage on digital channels to communicate and promote UOB as a progressive bank.
Innovation Promotion:
- Work closely with Innovation labs and the Enterprise AI department to integrate cutting-edge solutions into client offerings.
- Promote the adoption of UOB's solutions to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency and profitability.
- Continuously monitor emerging industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation.
Leadership And Team Management:
- Support the Head of Innovation Strategy and Planning in leading the Alliance and Partnership team.
- Set clear objectives, KPIs and innovation roadmaps to achieve strategic goals.
- Foster a collaborative, forward-thinking team culture that encourages experimentation and innovation.
Partnership Development:
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Number of strategic partnerships established and maintained.
- Quality and impact of partnerships on UOB's innovation-related initiatives.
Outreach And Engagement:
- Number of speaking engagements and events participated in by senior members of the Innovation Group.
- Increase in clients perception of UOB as a progressive bank.
Innovation Promotion:
- Successful integration of AI solutions into client offerings.
- Tangible Improvement in client experience and profitability via innovation-driven initiatives.
Team Performance:
- Achievement of team objectives and KPIs.
- Retention and development of innovation talent
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic partnership development and management.
- Proven track record of driving partnerships and conceptualizing/managing large-scale events including conferences and industry showcases
- Experience in strategically positioning senior management/c-suite leaders on global innovation platforms to strengthen corporate reputation and thought leadership
- Strong understanding of digital assets, artificial intelligence, data, fintech, and the role of innovation labs in the banking sector
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
