We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Site Engineer to oversee the on-site execution of fire protection installation projects. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day site activities, coordinate with subcontractors and consultants, ensure compliance with SCDF and relevant Singapore codes, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
. Manage and supervise on-site installation of fire protection systems including sprinkler, wet/dry riser, fire alarm, hose reel, portable extinguishers, and gas suppression systems.
. Coordinate with main contractors, consultants, and SCDF for inspections, testing, commissioning, and submission of statutory approvals.
. Review and interpret fire protection shop drawings, layout plans, and system schematics to ensure accurate installation per approved design.
. Ensure all works comply with Singapore Standards (SS CP 52, SS 578, SS 575), SCDF requirements, NFPA codes, and project specifications.
. Prepare and submit daily site progress reports, quality inspection records, method statements, and risk assessments.
. Plan and manage material deliveries, labour allocation, and equipment scheduling to maintain project timelines.
. Conduct site safety briefings and ensure strict adherence to bizSAFE and WSH regulations.
. Identify and resolve site issues, design clashes, and variations promptly, escalating to the Project Manager as necessary.
. Liaise with the procurement team for timely ordering and tracking of fire protection materials and equipment.
. Supervise testing and commissioning of fire protection systems, including flow tests, pressure tests, and alarm panel programming.
. Support handover documentation including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranty certificates.
. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in fire protection site engineering within the Singapore M&E construction industry.
. Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification is an advantage.
. Valid Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) and any relevant WSH certifications.
. Strong working knowledge of SCDF fire safety requirements and Singapore Standards (SS CP 52, SS 578, SS 575, NFPA).
. Hands-on experience with sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional), wet/dry riser installations, and fire pump sets.
. Proficient in reading M&E drawings and coordinating with architectural and structural trades.
. Familiarity with BIM/CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) is preferred.
. Experience with testing and commissioning procedures for fire protection systems.
. Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under site pressure.
. Able to work independently and lead a team of technicians and subcontractors.
. Meticulous with documentation and quality control.
