The Role
This role carries out specialized marine fires and explosions surveys, including but not limited to technical consultancy, forensic investigations, damage investigations, expert witness in court, and arbitrations.
Key Responsibilities
- The focus is on vessels, on shore structures in general, as well as several types of liquid and solid bulk cargoes.
- Investigating the reason and cause of fires and explosions, evaluating their extent and quantifying their damages.
- Provide advice/support to clients in marine fires related matters
- Produce letters and updates detailing the findings of the investigations and/ or attendances
- Prepare technically accurate and timely reports as required
- Provide expert opinion/evidence in court/arbitration in relation to their written expert testimony
- Follow company operating procedures
- Assist in business development and marketing activities
- Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

Required Skills
- Previous experience in this field as fire expert in a renowned consultancy firm
- PHD or at least a masters degree related to chemistry, fires and explosions
- Physically active to attend on site, including on ships or at shipyards
- Highly motivated, positive, approachable, enthusiastic and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
- Able to work independently
