Finance & Accounting Accountant (Banking) - 12 months contract (convertible to perm)
Overview
Support the day-to-day finance operations of the Bank, ensuring timely processing of payments, accurate account reconciliations, and preparation of internal and regulatory financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Handle reconciliations for bank accounts and investigate outstanding items
- Prepare accounting entries related to operational transactions and monthly finance activities
- Process staff expense claims, vendor invoices, and intercompany settlements
- Support payment runs and cash funding requirements for branch operations
- Monitor suspense accounts and liaise with stakeholders on outstanding issues
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial and management reports for Head Office and regulators
- Support year-end reporting, audit matters, and financial statement disclosures
- Participate in finance process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Prior experience in finance operations or accounting within banking/financial services preferred
- Familiarity with SAP or similar accounting systems
- Good understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Strong attention to detail with good communication and coordination skills
