What you'll do
- Develop and implement internal control system, design and improvise departmental standard operating policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Timely update the internal control and process requirement and address the best industry practices to management.
- Ongoing risk assessment to identify areas where control weaknesses may exist.
- Develop strategies to eliminate or minimize risks to the organization, such as fraud, financial misreporting.
- Plan and execute complex internal audit engagements, including risk assessment, audit planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up activities.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial, operational, and compliance processes to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas of improvement.
- Develop audit programs and testing procedures to address risks and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Prepare clear and concise audit reports and presentations for management, highlighting findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Work closely with other functions, including the compliance team, and then prepare responses to regulatory developments that may impact businesses.
What you'll need
- More than 8 years of experience in internal control/ audit, with a focus on financial controls, operational audits, and compliance reviews with minimally 3 years of managerial experience; preferably with a background in cryptocurrency or blockchain companies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA, CIA, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Proven experience leading and executing internal audit engagements, including risk assessment and audit planning,
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, risk management practices, and audit methodologies.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Hardcore, flexible, a self-starter, with a high sense of urgency, ability to multitask and work under pressured timelines
- Has team spirit but also works well as an individually
- Proficient in English & Mandarin to communicate with Chinese speaking stakeholders
