About the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded and well-connected Financial Institutions Business Development professional to drive strategic partnerships and grow institutional relationships across the financial ecosystem. This role will focus on engaging banks, payment providers, fintechs, brokers, liquidity partners, and other financial institutions to support the expansion of our payments, FX, treasury, digital assets, card, and cross-border infrastructure businesses.
The ideal candidate will possess strong industry relationships, a deep understanding of institutional financial services, and a proven ability to originate, negotiate, and execute complex commercial partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and establish new partnership opportunities with banks, PSPs, EMIs, fintech companies, brokers, exchanges, payment networks, and other financial institutions.
- Drive strategic initiatives across cross-border payments, FX settlement, treasury solutions, digital assets, card issuing/acquiring, and embedded finance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers across Singapore and the wider APAC market.
- Lead commercial negotiations, partnership structuring, and deal execution to support revenue growth objectives.
- Manage the full partnership lifecycle, including prospecting, pitching, onboarding, implementation, and ongoing relationship management.
Market Growth & Strategy
- Develop and execute institutional go-to-market strategies to accelerate business expansion.
- Stay informed on market developments, regulatory updates, and competitive trends across fintech, banking, payments, and digital assets sectors.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and new institutional business segments.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with internal teams including Product, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Treasury, and Technology to facilitate successful onboarding and solution delivery.
- Provide institutional market insights and client feedback to support product enhancements and strategic planning.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of partnership initiatives and commercial projects.
Relationship Management
- Maintain and deepen long-term institutional relationships while identifying opportunities for account growth and expansion.
- Deliver strategic support and tailored solutions to institutional clients and partners.
- Track partnership performance, commercial metrics, and key business KPIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Approximately 5–12 years of experience in institutional sales, financial institutions coverage, partnership management, fintech business development, or banking relationship management.
- Strong network within banks, fintech firms, payment companies, digital asset platforms, or financial infrastructure providers across APAC.
- Strong understanding of:
- Cross-border payments
- FX and treasury products
- Card issuing and acquiring
- Institutional onboarding processes
- Banking and payment infrastructure
- Digital assets / Web3 ecosystem (preferred)
- Demonstrated success in originating and closing institutional partnerships and delivering commercial results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Self-driven and able to thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
