We are expanding our financial leadership team and seeking a results-oriented and strategic Financial Director to partner with business unit leaders in driving financial analysis, performance, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for group-level financial planning & analysis, budgeting, performance management, and strategic planning across all subsidiaries and projects.
Finance Business Partnering & Strategic Advisory
- Serve as the trusted Finance Business Partner to Business Unit leaders and senior leadership across all operating entities.
- Translate financial data and trends into clear,actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Partner with business leaders on new project pursuits, contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and bid submissions to optimise financial outcomes.
- Lead commercial pricing reviews, including cost-to-complete analyses, margin optimisation, and competitive bid assessments for projects.
- Support business development activities with robust financial modelling, scenario planning, and investment appraisals.
- Advise on financial risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies at project, entity, and Group levels.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and multi-year strategic financial planning cycles for the Group.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for revenue forecasting, cost analysis, and profitability reporting across all business units.
- Establish and maintain robust management reporting frameworks, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis to track Group and business unit performance.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and project financial performance identify risks and proactively recommend corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, systems,and tools to enhance analytical capability and decision-support quality.
Investment Analysis & Capital Allocation
- Evaluate investment proposals, capital expenditure requests,and new business ventures using rigorous financial analysis (NPV, IRR, payback,sensitivity analysis).
- Provide financial due diligence support for potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Oversee project profitability tracking from award through completion, ensuring project finances are managed within approved parameters.
- Advise on optimal capital structure, funding strategies, and return-on-investment thresholds in alignment with Group objectives.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and mentor a small finance team to achieve excellence and accountability.
- Foster collaboration across functions and entities to align financial practices and performance reporting.
- Champion continuous improvement in systems, processes, and automation.
Technical Competencies
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with a professional institutition.
- Graduate degree in Accountancy, Business, or Finance.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in FP&A and strategic business partnering - preferably within architecture, construction, or EPC sectors in Singapore.
- Demonstrated strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen with success in driving business growth including contribution to revenue generation, margin improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Solid investment analysis skills with proficiency in financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Strong problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Sound technical knowledge of FRS / IFRS, accounting principles and consolidation, governance, and corporate compliance standards.
- High proficiency in using MS Excel and MS Powerpoint.
- Excellent command of English and proficiency in one other Asian language (to liaise with regional stakeholders), with ability to present complex financial information clearly to senior business leaders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage senior management.
- Resilient, resourceful, and analytical - able to operate independently and to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a small team and handle multiple deliverables concurrently.
- Experienced using Xero Accounting software will be an advantage.
- Immediate availability preferred.
