Financial Controller

Role Overview
The Financial Controller will oversee all financial management,including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and the development of internal control policies. As a key partner to the Operations and R&D teams, you will ensure the financial viability of complex medical device manufacturing projects while maintaining strict adherence to ISO 13485 and FDA financial compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Governance & Reporting

• Direct all aspects of accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition under ASC 606.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations and statutory reporting.
• Manage the annual audit process with external auditors, ensuring zero-finding quality in a highly regulated environment.

2. Manufacturing & Project Costing

• Cost Accounting: Maintain and improve standard costing systems for medical device production lines.
• Inventory Control: Oversee cycle counting, obsolescence tracking (critical for sterilized/expiring components), and WIP (Work in Progress) valuation.
• Project Profitability: Partner with Project Managers to track Actual vs. Quoted costs for client-specific R&D and tech-transfer projects.

3. Strategic FP&A & Business Partnering

• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
• Provide real-time financial insights to the Executive Team regarding CAPEX investments in new cleanrooms or automated assembly lines.
• Analyze manufacturing variances (labor, material usage, and overhead) to drive operational efficiency.

4. Risk Management & Compliance

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
• Monitor insurance programs, specifically Product Liability and Business Interruption insurance.
• Ensure financial systems are validated according to 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience - 10 - 15 yrs of experience with at least 5 years in manufacturing environment
• Technical - Proficiency in ERP systems and BI tools
• Soft skills - Strong leadership skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial engineers
