Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the full spectrum of finance operations for an established F&B group. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in financial management while also supporting business growth through strategic planning and process improvements.
Candidates with experience in introducing AI or automation tools for invoicing, finance processes, and simple accounting systems will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Operations
- Oversee full set of accounts including AP/AR, Fixed Assets, and Inventory
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger
- Standardize financial SOPs across multiple outlets
- Manage internal audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with GST, corporate tax, payroll, and statutory requirements
Financial Reporting & Budgeting
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports
- Analyze P&L variances and provide financial insights
- Manage annual budgeting and rolling forecasts
- Develop and monitor financial KPIs
Operational & Cost Analysis
- Monitor COGS and labour costs against industry benchmarks
- Oversee inventory management and variance analysis
- Review POS reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support cost optimization initiatives across outlets
Strategic Finance & Cash Flow Management
- Manage cash flow projections and working capital
- Conduct ROI and feasibility studies for new business opportunities
- Provide financial analysis to support expansion plans
- Review and negotiate supplier and landlord agreements where required
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar leadership role
- Prior experience in the F&B or retail industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
- Experience with finance systems, automation, or AI implementation is an advantage
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
