Financial & Operational Controller

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Financial & Operational Controller to lead the design and implementation of robust P&L frameworks, performance analytics, and digital finance solutions.

This role will play a critical part in enhancing financial transparency, strengthening performance monitoring, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organisation. The successful candidate will drive automation, improve data integrity, and build scalable reporting structures to support sustainable profitability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

P&L Architecture & Methodology Design

• Design and standardise management P&L structures across business units, regions, and product lines

• Develop margin waterfalls, contribution models, and robust cost allocation methodologies

• Define and document revenue recognition logic and cost categorisation standards

• Ensure alignment between management reporting frameworks and statutory reporting requirements

• Maintain governance over methodology updates, documentation, and version control

Financial Performance Monitoring

• Establish structured financial performance monitoring frameworks beyond traditional budgeting processes

• Develop profitability dashboards and analytical tools to support management insights

• Identify margin leakage, cost inefficiencies, and opportunities for value creation

• Conduct in-depth profitability analysis across products, contracts, customers, and geographic markets

• Partner with business leaders to translate financial insights into actionable strategies

Finance & Operations Digitalisation

• Lead finance workstreams in ERP, EPM, and BI system implementations

• Drive automation of P&L reporting and financial performance analytics

• Improve data quality, master data governance, and reporting accuracy

• Develop scalable financial data models to support real-time performance visibility

• Act as a key liaison between Finance, IT, and operational stakeholders to ensure successful system adoption

Process Optimisation & Governance

• Redesign finance processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention

• Implement robust controls around data integrity and reporting methodologies

• Ensure the finance infrastructure is scalable to support business growth

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational reporting processes

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

• At least 3 years of experience in commodities trading or a commodities-related industry

• Strong understanding of P&L structuring, margin analysis, and cost allocation methodologies

• Solid commercial acumen experience in the palm industry is an advantage

• Experience with finance systems (ERP, BI platforms, automation tools)

• Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities

• Proven ability to manage change and influence cross-functional stakeholders

• Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear operational insights

Additional Information

• Salary: Up to SGD 15,000 basic + variable bonus

• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM

• Candidates must have experience in commodities trading or a commodities-related industry
