Job Scope / Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the company's day-to-day accounting and finance operations.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and financial reports.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoice processing, payments, collections and outstanding accounts.
- Monitor company cash flow, bank balances, receipts, payments and funding requirements.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and budgets to support management decision-making.
- Review and verify customer invoices, supplier bills, credit notes, payment claims and supporting documents.
- Manage GST submissions, tax-related matters and statutory compliance in accordance with Singapore requirements.
- Ensure timely submission and payment of CPF, foreign worker levy and other statutory obligations, where applicable.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents, insurance companies, suppliers and customers on finance-related matters.
- Coordinate year-end audit, tax filing and preparation of financial statements with external auditors/accountants.
- Maintain proper accounting records and ensure transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported.
- Monitor project costs, manpower costs, expenses, purchase orders and project billing.
- Review timesheets, invoices, POs and supporting documents before submission to clients.
- Prepare monthly SOA, payment follow-ups and collection reports and monitor overdue receivables.
- Assist management in financial planning, cost control and business decision-making.
- Develop and maintain appropriate financial controls, approval procedures and accounting processes.
- Supervise and guide finance/accounting staff and allocate daily responsibilities.
- Identify accounting discrepancies, investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare financial analysis and management reports as required by management.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of the company's financial and sensitive information.
- Support management with financial documentation for loans, performance bonds, insurance, tenders and business applications.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by management.
Key Skills / Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Relevant experience in accounting and finance management, preferably in Singapore.
- Strong knowledge of full-set accounting, AP, AR, GST, cash flow and financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, Pivot Tables and financial analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify accounting errors.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Experience supervising junior accounting/finance staff is an advantage.
