Job purpose:
The individual will be responsible for performance management in respect of the applicable branches and subsidiaries in Asia.
The key focus will be on the following areas:
- Perform revenue and cost segmentation for the relevant entities to ensure management financials are appropriately reported.
- Delivery of revenue and cost management reporting suite for Corporate Clients and Treasury, and ensuring continuous improvements to current processes
- Provide primary support to the Cost Allocation process and Head Office Reporting requirements.
- Support the Multi-year planning (MYP) process, where applicable
- Develop business profitability and insights to support business steer and growth initiatives
- Enhance Finance support to business partners by improving linkages between management / local reporting and strategic agendas
- To assist the department in meeting its overall objectives and to contribute ideas to meet the requirements of the Finance Department
- To be fit and proper and act with integrity in accordance with the Bank's Code of Conduct
- To ensure that global policies and local regulations are adhered to at all times and are kept up to date with any developments in the business
Key activities:
- Perform various monthly processes including revenues and cost allocations to facilitate Segmental Reporting (SPOT) as well as Head Office Reporting needs
- Provide local management and business units with controlling relevant information including meaningful commentary for the entity and respective business units with a focus on both revenues and cost. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financials at all times
- Identify operational / control deficiencies and work with relevant teams to ensure appropriate control processes and procedures are in place
- Develop and maintain a well-rounded understanding of business performance and where required, provide insightful commentary on business drivers
- Ongoing review and improvement of processes to generate efficiencies
- Work on other governance, ad hoc and Finance-related projects as and when necessary
Formal education:
Degree / Diploma in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent)
Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):
- Basic knowledge of IFRS and SFRS. Knowledge of German GAAP HGB (preferred)
- Able to work with minimum supervision and under time pressure with tight deadlines
- Good analytical skills, meticulous and keen eye for details
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Process orientated with ability to analyse and recommend / drive improvements
- Service-oriented to key clients and stakeholders
- Proficient in Excel Alteryx, Power Query and SAP knowledge beneficial
