Roles and Responsibilities
This is a high-volume, quick-moving position that requires an eye for detail and the ability to solve problems on the fly. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Operations Analyst will be responsible for driving the operational accounting and financial closing processes for Woh Hup (WH) Group of companies. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience across day-to-day critical finance operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, GST, Corporate Interest Restriction, Construction Industry Scheme and other activities.
Given the dynamic nature of the business, the below is a non-exhaustive list of deliveries expected from the candidate. However, it covers the foundation responsibilities and capabilities that are required for the candidate to be successful in role.
- Ensure supplier invoices and subcontractor payment certificates are accurately captured in the relevant accounting systems (Xero and SAP) with adequate supporting documentation along with reconciliations to overall contract commitments.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing payments (including cheque, GIRO, Telegraphic transfer, etc.) for subcontractors, suppliers, and other vendors.
- Support the Finance Manager in the month end-closing process, including preparation of monthly reports, bank reconciliations and capitalized asset schedules.
- Input to business optimization projects, identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

The ideal candidate should have:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on finance operations experience with a foundation in financial accounting (diploma in Finance/ Accountancy/ Banking or equivalent). Hands on experience with SAP and/or Xero will be an advantage.
- The individual is highly organized, efficient, and confident in managing high volume of transactions under tight deadlines. They have a strong professional pride in ensuring transactional accounting and closing processes are delivered accurately and on-time. They also possess a keen eye for detail and are results oriented, and proactively highlight operational risks to management.
- They are an effective communicator that remain cool under pressure when dealing with various internal and external parties building on strong operational knowledge. They are willing to challenge the status quo and strive for continuous improvement.
- Confident in managing large and complex data sets in Excel and in a wider digital environment. Able to assess data, extract insights from financial and accounting software and navigate between different types of digital tools to produce results. Continuously learning new and better ways to manage and analyze data to support business outcomes.
- Strong growth mindset and high personal integrity. A team player, with a positive proactive approach to managing and solving problems. Ability to collaborate across different teams is key.
