Hawksman Technology is working with a leading global proprietary trading firm and hedge fund that deploys discretionary and systematic investment strategies across multiple asset classes. The firm is known for its research-driven approach, strong risk management culture, and long-term track record of success.
Role Overview
They are seeking a Finance Manager to support the firm's financial operations, reporting, treasury activities, and investor reporting functions. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will play a key role in maintaining financial controls, driving operational improvements, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and other financial analyses.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations to management.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury activities to optimize liquidity and operational efficiency.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across treasury and financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting requirements, and internal policies.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Assist with onboarding exchanges, brokers, and other financial counterparties.
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline financial processes and reporting.
- Prepare financial materials and reporting for investors and stakeholders.
- Support investor onboarding activities and maintain investor records and databases.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of finance experience within a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, asset manager, or other buy-side environment.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Experience with treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Financial modelling experience is highly preferred.
- Exposure to crypto or digital asset businesses is advantageous.
- Experience with Python or similar programming languages is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- CPA or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
