About Us
We are a mid size corporate and IP law firm in Singapore. We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Manager to take ownership of our firm's accounts, payroll, and financial operations.
Position Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, client account compliance, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a small, close-knit office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process monthly payroll for all staff, including CPF contributions and other statutory deductions
- Maintain and reconcile the firm's general/office account and client account in compliance with the Legal Profession (Solicitors Accounts) Rules
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports for partners
- Manage client billing, invoicing, and collections in coordination with lawyers
- Track firm expenses, budgets, and cash flow
- Liaise with external accountants/auditors for statutory filings (ACRA, IRAS) and the annual audit
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, including GST filing and MOM employment requirements
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in line with Singapore accounting standards (SFRS)
- Support partners with financial planning and budgeting decisions
Qualifications
Required:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Min 3+ years of experience in accounting/finance, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
- Experience with Singapore payroll processing, CPF submissions, and IRAS filings
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Familiarity with the Legal Profession (Solicitors Accounts) Rules
- Working knowledge of GST filing requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- High degree of discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial information
- Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills
- Familiarity with legal practice management/billing software (e.g., Clio, Core Matters)
- ISCA membership, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Experience managing payroll and benefits for a team of 10-30 employees
- Familiarity with MOM regulations and work pass administration
