Job Description
To lead the design, documentation and implementation of Atome's internal controls framework across key markets, working closely with Finance teams across the region to achieve the Group's internal controls objectives and, as a long-term goal, SOX compliance readiness. The role will be the day-to-day owner of controls and process alignment work across in-scope markets, partnering with Financial Reporting on SOP alignment, and supporting the Head of FGT on group-wide accounting policy alignment. The individual will also maintain awareness of Finance automation, AI and system initiatives to ensure controls considerations are embedded from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Controls Design & Implementation
- Conduct process walkthroughs and controls assessments across in-scope Finance teams, documenting current-state processes and identifying gaps relative to internal best practices and the Group's controls objectives
- Design and implement a controls framework appropriate for a regional fintech organisation, including Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs), process narratives, flowcharts and control activity documentation
- Develop and roll out standardised SOPs across in-scope markets in close coordination with the Financial Reporting team, ensuring alignment with Group-level policies and practical applicability at country level
- Monitor the operating effectiveness of implemented controls on an ongoing basis and prepare periodic controls reporting for the Head of FGT and senior management
- Liaise with external auditors and internal audit on controls-related matters
- Track and drive resolution of remediation actions arising from controls assessments with the relevant country Finance teams
- Accounting Policy Alignment
- Support the Head of FGT in driving group-wide accounting policy alignment across all markets, drawing on operational knowledge gained from controls walkthroughs to identify where policy and practice may diverge
- Contribute to the documentation and communication of Group accounting policies across in-scope markets
- Finance Automation & Systems Awareness
- Maintain working awareness of Finance automation, AI and system initiatives to identify controls implications and flag risks proactively to the Head of FGT
- Ensure controls considerations are embedded in Finance system and process design from the outset, engaging with relevant teams where required
Candidate Profile

- Comfortable working across regional teams and navigating different operational environments across Southeast Asian markets
Strong Preferences
- Familiarity with SOX 404 requirements and the COSO internal controls framework
- Fluent in Mandarin (spoken proficiency)
- Prior exposure to multi-country or regional Finance environments in Southeast Asia
