We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager - General Ledger to oversee the General Ledger (GL) function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end and year-end closing process, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting audit and statutory compliance across local and regional entities.
Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger & Financial Reporting
- Lead and oversee the General Ledger function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for Singapore operations and overseas entities.
- Review and approve journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure all GL accounts are reconciled accurately and outstanding items are resolved on a timely basis.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports in accordance with Singapore FRS/IFRS.
- Audit, Compliance & Tax
- Act as the key liaison with external auditors and manage the annual audit process from planning through completion.
- Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely submission of supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, GST filings, corporate tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on corporate tax computations and transfer pricing documentation.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Budgeting & Financial Control
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and investigate significant variances.
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial governance processes.
- Support continuous improvements to financial reporting processes and accounting controls.
- Team Leadership & Business Support
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the General Ledger team, ensuring timely delivery of accounting activities.
- Partner with operational and corporate stakeholders to provide financial support and reporting.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis, management reports, and government or statutory surveys as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA is preferred.
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant General Ledger or Financial Accounting experience, including experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge of Singapore FRS/IFRS, GST, corporate tax, and statutory financial reporting.
- Proven experience managing month-end and year-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and General Ledger operations.
- Hands-on experience coordinating external audits and statutory audit requirements.
- Experience with SAP (Finance/General Ledger modules) is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
- Experience in the marine, offshore, shipping, engineering, or EPC industry is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines.
