The Finance Manager plans the organization's financial strategy, analyzes its financial performance and risk profile. He/she must be well-versed in the relevant aspects of financial management ranging from basic and fundamental accounting principles to broad investment and banking operations. He/she will be expected to assume a leadership role with the ability to influence relative departments of the organization towards supporting its financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Assume a leadership role in the organisation's financial analysis and planning.
- Perform risk management by analysing the organization's liabilities and assets, including investments.
- Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks and recommend actions ensuring cash flow is adequate and secured for the organization's operation.
- Ensure POP and other ECDA and Govermental grants / financial support are applied for and obtained.
- Be familiar with and be able to explain ECDA's financial schemes and subsidies to both CPES as well as to parents of potential CPES students.
- To obtain and maintain IPC status for CPES.
- Supervise and motivate all finance personnel.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Ensure reliable and timely financials reports - Balance Sheet, Income and Expenditure and Cash Flow statements are made available.
- Establish and oversee the company's finance IT system.
- Ensure compliance with the law and company's policies, especially in the area of charity accounting.
Pre Requisites
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or relevant role.
- Prior experience and knowledge of financial matters relating to the Preschool Sector, especially in ECDA's AOP or POP is a distinct advantage.
- Good knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
- Good knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. QBO).
- Ability to analyse, strategise and solve problems able to read into numbers to provide financial insights.
- Strong leadership, organisational, communication and people skills
- Chartered Accountant / CPA is a strong advantage
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
- MSc/MBA is a plus.
