Job Description

Role Purpose

To lead the day-to-day execution of Finance Business Partnering activities across two distinct workstreams: (i) active participation in New and Amended Product Assessments (NAPAs), bridging Finance and Business to ensure Finance outputs are accurately captured and reflected throughout the assessment process; and (ii) supporting Finance functions — including Financial Reporting, Financial Operations, Tax and Strategic Finance — with requirements for Finance-driven system and reporting initiatives, ensuring sufficient and well-structured information is provided to Finance Product Managers and Finance Tech for execution. The role sits at the intersection of accounting knowledge, tax awareness, operational finance flows and technology — requiring a candidate equally comfortable discussing accounting treatment and tax implications with senior Finance stakeholders and translating Finance requirements into actionable specifications for engineers and product managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business-Driven: New and Amended Product Assessments (NAPAs)
  • Actively participate in NAPAs as the Finance representative, working across Business, Product, Tech, Legal, Compliance, Risk and PMO to ensure all Finance considerations — including accounting treatment, tax implications and operational requirements — are identified and comprehensively reflected in assessment outputs
  • Lead end-to-end financial structuring and solution design for new product launches and strategic initiatives — defining how a new product or business model should be structured from a Finance perspective, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and Finance, accounting and operational requirements
  • Monitor the pipeline of upcoming NAPAs and proactively flag Finance readiness risks and open items to the Head of FGT
  • Support business go-live readiness by contributing to go-live roadmaps, process documentation and change management initiatives for new product rollouts; facilitate UAT, deliver training to Finance and business users, and gather feedback to drive iterative improvements in collaboration with the project team
  • Finance-Driven: Supporting Finance Functions on System & Reporting Initiatives
  • Partner with Finance, Product, Technology and Data teams to design and continuously improve the finance system architecture that supports financial reporting, operational oversight and decision-making across the Group
  • Translate business transformation and innovation needs into actionable system requirements, including the development of prototypes or mockups where needed to support solution design and facilitate alignment between Finance and Technology stakeholders
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with Finance stakeholders and help translate outputs into structured specifications, flagging gaps or ambiguities before handover to Finance Tech
  • Track and monitor delivery progress on Finance-driven initiatives, coordinating Finance-side input during UAT and flagging issues to the relevant Finance function leads
  • Cross-Functional & Governance
  • Develop and maintain Finance-facing communications related to new products, system changes and Finance initiatives
  • Contribute to the build-out of aligned accounting policies across the Group, particularly in relation to new business models and product structures

Candidate Profile

Non-negotiable Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in Finance with active exposure to Finance systems, business flows and product or project governance — ideally within financial services, fintech or a Big 4 advisory practice serving these sectors
  • Tech literacy (essential) — comfortable engaging with engineers, product managers and data teams on system architecture, data flows, APIs and system requirements without needing to code; able to ask the right questions, challenge technical assumptions and translate Finance needs into specifications that Technology can action
  • Strong accounting knowledge — in particular, working familiarity with IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) as applied to consumer lending, buy-now-pay-later, credit products and similar financial instruments; broader IFRS knowledge relevant to fintech or financial services is advantageous
  • Demonstrable understanding of end-to-end business-to-finance flows — how a transaction originates in a front-office system, flows through operational and payment processes, and lands in accounting entries
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills — able to engage senior Finance and business leaders and translate between Finance and business or technical language effectively
  • Prior exposure to accounting or finance systems relevant to accounting transformation, financial reporting or ERP environments — e.g. accounting transformation engines, ERP platforms or financial reporting systems
  • Mandarin speaking (spoken proficiency) — required for engagement with China-based counterparts
  • Tax awareness — understanding of how product structures interact with tax positions, with a working knowledge of tax considerations relevant to the financial services or fintech sector

Strong Preferences

  • Experience working across multiple Southeast Asian jurisdictions in a regional Finance role
  • Familiarity with AI tools or computer science fundamentals as applied to Finance automation or system design
  • Experience managing or contributing to requirements definition for Finance system builds or enhancements
  • Knowledge of tax implications of product structures across Southeast Asian markets
