Job Summary:
The Finance Intern supports the Finance team in data entry, report preparation, data uploads, reconciliation, and documentation activities. The role assists in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial and operational information, identifying and resolving discrepancies, maintaining proper records, and supporting reporting and data analysis requirements across the organisation.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
1. Data Entry and Uploads
- Assist the Finance team with accurate and timely data entry, including updating financial, operational and reporting information into the relevant templates, systems or shared folders.
- Upload reports, supporting documents and data files into the required platforms or shared folders, ensuring completeness, proper filing and consistency with internal requirements.
2. Reporting and Reconciliation
- Support the preparation of regular and ad-hoc management reports by compiling, checking and organising data from different sources.
- Review reports and supporting schedules to identify discrepancies, missing information or unusual variances.
- Follow up with relevant team members or properties to clarify and reconcile discrepancies noted in reports, uploads or supporting schedules.
3. Documentation and Audit Trail
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation and audit trail for data entry, report uploads, reconciliations and follow-up actions.
- Ensure information is organised clearly and retained in accordance with Finance team requirements.
4. Data Analysis and Process Support
- Support basic data analysis by summarising key trends, patterns and variances for review by the Finance team.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve data accuracy, reporting consistency and workflow efficiency.
5. Communication and Team Support
- Communicate clearly and professionally with Finance team members and other departments to obtain missing information or resolve reporting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Finance-related projects and reporting objectives.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Analysis or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint familiarity with Power BI or other data analysis tools would be an advantage.
- Able to perform accurate data entry and upload information into templates, systems or shared platforms.
- Able to review reports, identify inconsistencies and reconcile discrepancies with good attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organise data clearly and logically.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to follow up professionally on missing or inconsistent information.
- Able to work independently while supporting the wider Finance team.
