Finance & Human Resource Assistant - JobDescription

Our church is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Finance & Human Resource Assistant to support the financial and HR administration of our office. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our ministry and operations, ensuringboth financial integrity and effective staff support.

Reporting to: The Office Manager

Key Responsibilities:

A) Financial Administration:

1. Liaise with our appointed finance vendor, who manages the full spectrum of accounting functions, including the preparation and submission of monthly and annual financial reports, coordination with auditors, and compliance filings with relevant government agencies.

2. Process payments, claims, and receipts with accuracy and care.

3. Maintain proper documentation and clear records of all transactions and suppliers.

4. Manage petty cash and perform timely bank reconciliations.

5. Record ministry-related income from events and activities.

6. Maintain digital financial records to support audits and transparent reporting.

7. Provide data support for monthly management reports.

8. Support the upkeep of fixed asset records and assist with asset verification.

9. Uphold compliance with internal financial policies and local regulatory requirements.

10. Handle bank account opening and updating requirements.

11. Assist with general finance-related and administrative tasks.

B) Human Resource Administration:

1. Handle staff payroll processing, claims, and related matters.

2. Liaise with insurance agents regarding renewal, cancellation, and claims of staff insurances.

3. Oversee records for staff leave, off-in-lieu, and attendance using established systems.

4. Coordinate scheduling and tracking of work hours and leave balances.

5. Support onboarding of new team members, including documentation and orientation.

6. Maintain efficient systems for secure document storage and retrieval.

C) Others:

1. Support church-wide and office events as needed.

2. Provide consistent support to the team and other staff as required.

3. Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Office Manager or Senior Pastor/Pastors.

Qualifications and Skills:

. Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.

. LCCI or equivalent qualification in finance/accounting.

. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools.

. Able to work independently while contributing to a team.

. Committed to integrity, confidentiality, and Christian values.

. Experience working in a church context in Singapore is preferred.

. Experience or training in HR Infotech, Xero, or similar software is an advantage.

. Meticulous with attention to detail resourceful and able to multi-task.

. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Information:

. Due to the nature of church operations, working on Saturdays and Sundays is required off-days will be allocated during weekdays.
