Finance Executive/Senior Executive

Position Overview

The Food Bank Singapore was set up in 2012 with a goal to achieve food security for all in Singapore through redistribution of food surplus to needy communities while championing food sustainability. As a registered charity with an IPC status, we provide food support to beneficiary partners like Red Cross, Pertapis, SunLove, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities, etc., to bring nourishment to needy communities. What You'll Do
The Finance Executive/Senior Executive supports the day-to-day finance operations of Food Bank Singapore. This is a hands-on role focused on core accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping.

The role is suitable for candidates who are newly qualified (e.g. LCCI Diploma or equivalent) or who have up to 1 year of relevant finance experience. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and senior finance team members and will assist with, but not be solely responsible for, monthly management accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process supplier invoices accurately and on a timely basis
• Match invoices to supporting documents and approvals
• Prepare payment runs and follow up on payment queries
• Maintain proper filing and documentation for audit purposes

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Issue invoices and receipts where required
• Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances
• Reconcile donor, grant, or customer receipts to accounting records

Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management

• Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate differences
• Assist with monitoring cash balances and transactions
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of cash records

Bookkeeping & General Accounting

• Maintain accurate accounting records using double-entry principles
• Post journal entries where required
• Assist with month-end closing activities
• Support preparation of schedules for balance sheet and profit & loss review

Support & Compliance

• Assist with audit requests and documentation
• Support finance process improvements and system enhancements
• Carry out other finance-related duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• LCCI Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent qualification
• OR 1 year of relevant experience in a finance or accounts role
• Fresh graduates with strong fundamentals are welcome to apply

Technical Skills

• Confident understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
• Clear understanding of how a balance sheet and profit & loss statement work
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting software is an advantage (training will be provided if needed)
