Job Description

About Vertical Institute

Vertical Institute is a leading Singapore-based AI training provider focused on equipping working professionals with in-demand, career-advancing skills. We focus on artificial intelligence and other emerging, high-impact technologies, with a strong emphasis on real-world application over theory.

We are a Registered Training Provider (RTP) with SkillsFuture Singapore, and have trained tens of thousands of professionals across both individual and corporate programmes, including partnerships with government agencies and enterprises.

Our mission is to help individuals and organisations stay relevant and competitive in an AI-driven economy. We design and deliver practical, hands-on courses that equip professionals with immediately applicable skills that drive real outcomes at work.

We are a fast-growing organisation that values ownership, speed, and continuous improvement. If you are excited about shaping how AI transforms work and education, you will find strong alignment here.

Role Overview

You will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong financial controls. This role requires someone who can both execute and improve systems - not just maintain them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full sets of accounts, including AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and payment processing
  • Monitor cash flow and highlight risks proactively

2. Revenue & Cost Accuracy

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition (especially for courses, funding, and attendance-based revenue)
  • Track and reconcile payments against invoices and internal systems
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve them quickly

3. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and management reports
  • Provide clear insights on revenue, costs, and profitability
  • Support budgeting and forecasting

4. Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, GST, and regulatory requirements
  • Strengthen internal controls to prevent errors and leakages
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors

5. Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies in current finance workflows
  • Automate and improve processes where possible
  • Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Ops, Tech) to ensure clean data flow

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of full-set accounting
  • High attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
  • Proactive mindset

Why Join Us

  • High ownership role with direct impact on business performance
  • Work closely with senior management
  • Fast-moving environment with room to grow

Employment Type

  • Open to 1-year contract or full-time, depending on candidate preference

How to Apply

Send your resume and a short note explaining:

  1. Your experience with full-set accounts
  2. One finance process you improved in your previous role
