The Finance Director, Southeast Asia, leads financial strategy, performance and governance across 14 countries, strategically partnering with regional and global leaders to drive growth, margin expansion, market development and operational excellence. This role oversees all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance reporting, providing clear and actionable insights that inform commercial, operational, and strategic decisions as well as risk management, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Defining and executing regional financial strategy aligned with Asia and Corporate objectives.
Close collaboration with the commercial organization in areas such as pricing, tender management, customer and product profitability, and margin optimization.
Partner with supply chain and operations teams to improve cost efficiency, optimize inventory, and strengthen the IBP and forecasting processes, as well as distribution activities relevant to the region.
Managing financial risks, including FX exposure, credit management, and capital allocation.
Operating within a highly regulated sector ensures compliance with internal controls, healthcare regulatory frameworks, accounting standards, tax requirements, and anti-bribery policies.
Contribute to due diligence efforts for distributor transitions, or major regional investments, evaluating strategic opportunities and supporting the integration of financial operations.
Managing, developing and mentoring the finance team, fostering engagement and inclusion, managing performance, and building a strong pipeline of future leaders.
Acting as principal spokesperson for the region on financial matters and cultivating long-term strategic relationships that support both departmental and business objectives.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Advanced management and leadership capabilities, with strong mastery in finance and broad expertise across related disciplines.
Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 7 years in managerial roles
Proven ability to:
Lead cross-department teams and manage multiple functions, navigating complex organizational structures
Make strategic decisions with broad business impact
Comfortable to navigate through complexity and ambiguity
Demonstrated experience in:
Developing strong and effective talent strategy and making strategic hiring decisions
Leading high-performing teams
Championing innovation across the organization
Skills/competencies:
In-depth knowledge of providing senior financial support to regional and country leadership, with strong business acumen
Working knowledge of US GAAP
Solid understanding of commercial and industry dynamics, with effective negotiation skills
Ability to anticipate and analyze problems or opportunities, set priorities, and manage multiple projects
Effective communicator at all levels, demonstrating personal integrity and professional authority
Experience working successfully in a complex matrix organization, in the Healthcare industry preferably in MedTech
Strong people management skills
