The Company

Our client is a global leader in high-tech manufacturing, operating a complex, multi-tier supply network that supports cutting-edge products and demanding customer requirements. They are seeking a Finance Director, Supply Chain & Procurement to serve as a strategic finance partner to the global procurement and supply chain organization-shaping sourcing decisions, strengthening product economics, and safeguarding gross margin.

This is a global leadership role with significant visibility and influence across Procurement, Supply Chain Operations, Engineering, and Business Unit Finance.


The Role

Reporting directly to the VP Finance, you will design and continuously improve the financial backbone that enables best-in-class sourcing and supplier management. You'll build rigorous frameworks for supplier negotiations, total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluation, risk quantification, and procurement value realization-ensuring decisions are grounded in objective, defensible analysis.

Strategic Business Partnering (Procurement & Supply Chain Finance)

  • Act as the finance lead for global procurement and supply chain stakeholders, influencing category strategies and sourcing decisions.
  • Provide financial insight to guide supplier selection, contracting, and negotiation positions.
  • Drive alignment between sourcing outcomes and broader profitability, margin, and product cost objectives.

Cost, TCO & Should-Cost Excellence

  • Develop and refine TCO models that incorporate direct costs, logistics, quality, warranty, lead-time, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Build should-cost and cost breakdown models to challenge supplier pricing and strengthen negotiation leverage.
  • Establish robust supplier cost benchmarking approaches to improve transparency and competitiveness.

Savings Tracking & Value Measurement

  • Create and govern savings methodologies (hard/soft savings definitions, baselines, and validation rules).
  • Implement disciplined tracking and reporting of procurement savings, productivity, and cost avoidance.
  • Ensure results are credible, auditable, and clearly tied to financial outcomes.

Planning, Reporting & Financial Controls

  • Support planning cycles, forecasting, and performance management for procurement and supply chain functions.
  • Build dashboards and executive-ready reporting to highlight savings progress, cost drivers, and margin risks.
  • Strengthen controls and governance around sourcing-related financial commitments and benefits realization.

Risk & Resilience Quantification

  • Translate supply chain risks into measurable financial impact (e.g., continuity, dual sourcing, inventory strategies, and supplier financial health).
  • Partner with operations and procurement teams to evaluate trade-offs and protect margin under volatility.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing finance team; raise the bar on analytical rigor, communication, and stakeholder partnership.
  • Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and business impact.


Your Profile

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following relevant skills sets and experience:

  • Degree in Accountancy, ACCA and/or CA qualified
  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful exposure to supply chain, procurement, or operations finance.
  • Demonstrated success supporting a large-scale procurement/supply chain organization within a manufacturing
  • Strong expertise in TCO, should-cost modeling, savings methodology design, and supplier cost benchmarking.
  • Advanced capability in financial modeling and decision support for cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Strong systems and analytics proficiency: SAP (or similar ERP), advanced Excel/modeling, and comfort with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau; proven ability to work with large datasets.
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving measurable cost/productivity improvements.
  • Proven people leadership: building, developing, and motivating finance talent in a dynamic environment.
