Role OverviewA Finance Business Partner / Financial Controller plays a critical role in managing financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making within an organization. This role combines financial control responsibilities with business partnering to help departments improve efficiency, profitability, and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
- Monitor key financial metrics and recommend improvements.
2. Financial Control & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Maintain strong internal financial controls and reporting processes.
3. Business Partnering
- Work closely with department heads and management teams to support financial decision-making.
- Provide financial guidance for projects, investments, and operational strategies.
- Translate financial data into actionable business insights.
4. Budget Management & Cost Control
- Monitor departmental budgets and spending.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
- Support strategic initiatives through financial evaluation.
5. Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and financial governance.
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies when necessary.
6. Team Leadership
- Supervise finance and accounting staff where applicable.
- Support training and development of finance team members.
- Promote best practices in financial management.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Certifications: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: 510 years in finance, accounting, or financial management roles.
- Skills:
- Strong financial analysis and strategic planning skills.
- Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency.
