Role Overview

A Finance Business Partner / Financial Controller plays a critical role in managing financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making within an organization. This role combines financial control responsibilities with business partnering to help departments improve efficiency, profitability, and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and recommend improvements.

2. Financial Control & Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls and reporting processes.

3. Business Partnering

  • Work closely with department heads and management teams to support financial decision-making.
  • Provide financial guidance for projects, investments, and operational strategies.
  • Translate financial data into actionable business insights.

4. Budget Management & Cost Control

  • Monitor departmental budgets and spending.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial evaluation.

5. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and financial governance.
  • Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies when necessary.

6. Team Leadership

  • Supervise finance and accounting staff where applicable.
  • Support training and development of finance team members.
  • Promote best practices in financial management.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Certifications: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: 510 years in finance, accounting, or financial management roles.
  • Skills:
  • Strong financial analysis and strategic planning skills.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
