Job Summary
We seek an experienced Finance Business Partner to drive budgeting, forecasting, technology investment governance, and portfolio management. You will collaborate with technology leaders and stakeholders to translate business priorities into financial plans and strengthen financial governance.
Responsibilities
Finance Business Partnering and Planning
- Collaborate with business and technology divisions to develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights and recommendations to support management decisions.
- Critically evaluate financial assumptions to identify risks, opportunities, and cost-optimization areas.
- Facilitate strategic planning and resource-allocation discussions with stakeholders.
Budget Management and Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises to ensure accurate financial planning.
- Monitor budget utilization and expenditure trends to track financial performance.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to improve financial outcomes.
- Maintain and update multi-year financial plans covering OPEX, CAPEX, and technology investments.
Technology Investment and Portfolio Governance
- Support governance, prioritization, and tracking of technology investments, programs, and projects.
- Monitor project financial performance, investment utilization, and expected outcomes to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Prepare portfolio dashboards and management reports for governance meetings and senior management reviews.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to enhance accuracy and transparency of project financial data.
Financial Reporting and Governance
- Develop management dashboards, financial reports, and executive presentation materials to communicate financial status.
- Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, controls, and governance standards.
- Assist in business case development and financial evaluation of proposed investments.
Data Analytics and Continuous Improvement
- Apply data analytics techniques to generate management insights and performance reports.
- Design dashboards and reporting solutions to improve visibility of financial and portfolio performance.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline reporting and operational processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and portfolio management functions.
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in finance business partnering, financial planning and analysis, budget management, technology finance, portfolio management, management consulting, or related roles.
- Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and financial modeling.
- Skilled in partnering with senior stakeholders to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Strong business partnering, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling, scenario analysis, Power Query, PivotTables, dashboard development, and large dataset analysis.
- Self-driven, collaborative, and adaptable to dynamic work environments.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in technology, public sector, financial services, or transformation environments.
- Experience supporting technology investment or portfolio governance.
- Proficiency in Power BI for dashboard development and financial analytics.
- Experience using Power Automate for workflow or reporting automation.
- Knowledge of data analytics tools such as SQL or Python.
