Key Responsibilities
Finance Data and Process Automation
- Drive and implement process enhancement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, controls and governance, including:
- Finance system implementations, upgrades and integrations.
- Automation of financial close processes, and optimization of data workflows to minimize manual efforts and maximize productivity.
- Strengthen internal controls and compliance while improving transparency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with APAC and global Finance teams on strategic projects and ad hoc tasks to strengthen data governance, ensure seamless integration with other systems, and align processes with best practices and organizational objectives.
- Conduct training and provide guidance to Finance teams, enabling them to effectively use programming and data management tools to drive automation and innovation in financial processes.
Financial Closing
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation and posting of journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, IT and Reinsurance, to ensure accurate, consistent and complete data for financial reporting and group intercompany reconciliations.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review the regulatory and statutory reporting in compliance with MAS requirements and IFRS 17 standards.
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial reporting packages and group reporting submissions, in accordance with group reporting requirements and timelines.
- Assist with external and internal audits, including preparing detailed schedules, supporting documentation and timely responses to audit queries.
Requirements Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Actuarial Science, Data Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in regulatory and financial reporting, process improvement and data analytics.
- Professional qualifications such as CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA, actuarial certifications, or data analytics credentials are highly desirable.
- Prior experience in insurance financial reporting or working with renowned audit firms is an advantage.
Skills
- Ability to improve performance and efficiency through the implementation of effective business intelligence techniques and strategies.
- Experience in automation and/or scripting and coding languages (e.g. VBA, R, Python).
- Able to work with multiple data sources using tools like Excel, SAS, SQL, Power BI, is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ERP accounting systems e.g., SAP, SUN, or other equivalent systems.
