We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance & Accounts Manager to manage the complete spectrum of accounting and financial operations in our construction company. The role requires strong technical knowledge, compliance awareness, and the ability to manage both routine accounting tasks and project-related financial requirements. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and transparency in all financial matters, supporting senior management in decision-making and maintaining compliance with statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full sets of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Bank Reconciliation.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
- Perform cost accounting and project cost control, including monitoring progress billings, retention sums and work-in-progress schedules.
- Prepare and submit GST returns, withholding tax, and corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with IRAS requirements.
- Manage budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment processing, including supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and payroll coordination.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and company policies.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, suppliers, and government authorities on accounting, tax, and statutory matters.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and perform periodic asset verification.
- Ensure document control and proper record keeping of financial data for audits and statutory reviews.
- Assist in implementing accounting software to improve efficiency.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports to management for decision support.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
- Minimum 5 years experience in accounting, preferably in construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
- Strong knowledge of SFRS, GST, and corporate tax regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous with high attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and external parties.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being a strong team player.
