Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Costing & Margin Analysis
- Oversee product costing and gross margin analysis within a manufacturing environment
- Manage standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead absorption costing
- Ensure accurate cost allocation across materials, labour, and manufacturing overheads
- Perform cost variance analysis between standard and actual production costs
- Reconcile production orders, inventory movements, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) to ensure accurate cost flow from materials through production to finished goods within SAP/Epicor systems
- Work closely with operations teams to improve cost transparency and profitability analysis
Financial & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Singapore Companies Act, Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), GST regulations, and ACRA requirements
- Manage annual statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions, and liaise with external auditors and authorities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and management reporting
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor cost centre expenditures and financial performance against budget
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making
Financial Risk & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and financing arrangements
- Monitor foreign exchange exposure and borrowing costs
- Optimise working capital management, including receivables, payables, and inventory levels
Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive process improvements and internal control enhancements within the finance function
- Support ERP optimisation and digital initiatives, including improvements to SAP or Epicor systems
- Strengthen financial processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and reporting accuracy
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring high standards in financial reporting and compliance.
- Establish departmental KPIs and performance targets.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams.
Key Accountability Areas
- Audit & tax compliance - ensure timely and accurate statutory submissions.
- Manufacturing costing accuracy - reliable product costing and margin reporting.
- COGS integrity - accurate reconciliation between production, inventory, and financial records
- Budget discipline - proactive monitoring of financial performance.Cash flow management - maintain strong liquidity and financial stability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as ISCA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of finance and accounting experience.
- Must have strong hands-on finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Manufacturing Costing Expertise
Must have solid experience in manufacturing costing, including:
- Standard costing
- Overhead absorption costing
- Cost variance analysis
- Production costing and margin analysis
- COGS reconciliation and inventory cost analysis
ERP & System Experience
- Must have practical experience using ERP systems such as SAP and/or Epicor in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in SAP Controlling and Product Costing modules (CO-PC) including:
- Standard cost roll-up
- Production order costing
- Cost variance analysis
- Manufacturing overhead absorption
- Cost center allocation and settlement
- Experience supporting ERP implementation or migration projects will be an advantage
Regulatory & Technical Knowledge
- Good understanding of GST compliance, Singapore Companies Act, and Financial Reporting Standards (FRS)
Additional Requirement
- Candidates without hands-on experience in manufacturing costing, COGS reconciliation, and overhead absorption within SAP or Epicor systems will not be considered
