We are working with an early-stage AI company building autonomous AI products for the global market. As the company expands internationally and begins transitioning into commercial operations, they are looking for a Finance & Accounting Manager to take ownership of the company's accounting function across Singapore and overseas entities.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment and can independently manage day-to-day accounting while coordinating with external professional advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations across Singapore and overseas entities.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, expenses and payment processing.
- Maintain accurate and timely monthly financial records and management accounts.
- Handle month-end and year-end closing, including relevant schedules and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, corporate secretarial firms and accounting service providers.
- Support annual audits, tax filings and statutory compliance across relevant jurisdictions.
- Manage multi-currency transactions and cross-border payments.
- Maintain proper documentation for intercompany transactions and related-party transactions.
- Support the setup and ongoing management of new overseas entities, including working with local accounting and tax advisors.
- Help establish and improve accounting processes, internal controls and financial reporting procedures as the company grows.
- Support the finance team with cash flow tracking, budgeting and financial reporting where required.
- Assist with fundraising, investor reporting and financial due diligence as the business scales.
- Take ownership of ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with exposure to technology companies, startups, investment firms or other fast-growing businesses.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements.
- Hands-on experience with full-set accounting is highly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple entities and/or overseas entities is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with cross-border transactions, multi-currency accounting and intercompany accounting.
- Experience working with external auditors, tax advisors and accounting firms.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on, proactive and comfortable working independently in an early-stage environment.
- Able to work with a high degree of ownership and adapt quickly as the business evolves.
