Field Service Engineer - Singapore
This position will be is 100% onsite (field-based).
Salary Range:SGD 98,340.00 To SGD 121,340.00 Annually
Field Service Engineer (FSE) duties include providing daily ongoing support of customer equipment, inspecting and installing assemblies and components, inspecting equipment and conducting research on site in order to solve problems quickly and report on project status. FSE's will ensure that everything works smoothly and engineering designs are being followed. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by anticipating and meeting the customer's operational needs and commitments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide timely, professional, and courteous field service and technical product support to key customers.
- Provide support with component research and troubleshooting, repair, installation, preventative maintenance, and coordinating the ordering and installation of spare parts.
- Perform equipment installation based on manufacturing specification.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing and engineering by discussing details of component/sub- system specifications with customers during onsite visits or by telephone/video conferences.
- Assist in writing, reviewing, and updating installation, operation, and maintenance manuals for systems in the customer install base.
- Occasional travel may be required to FM facilities or customer locations (10%).
- Follow standard procedures to escalate unresolved issues at the customer site.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports and ensure proper recording and closure of all issues.
- Document tool issues and develop the best-known-method (BKM) for troubleshooting cases. Share experiences to the team and contribute to the BKM system.
- Support R&D projects to improve system performance. Review, forward, and discuss technical experience with R&D.
- Obtain knowledge of the organization's products and services.
- Provides Engineering/Quality approved customer training.
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Requires 5-7 years experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of semiconductor process equipment. Experience with plasma etching and plasma deposition systems preferred.
- Require Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical). Associate level or higher or equivalent work experience.
- Team player with excellent people/relationship skills, mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong writing and communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
- Standing or Sitting for extended periods of time, , walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or bending to the floor; use hands to finger, handle or feel parts and materials; reach with hands and arms and overhead; and talk and/or hear instructions and equipment sounds.
- Occasionally sitting or standing.
- Lifting and/or moving items up to 40 pounds.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to differentiate shades and color to identify coating defects.
- Near acuity or accommodation required for reading instrumentation and documentation, dial and digital gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of coating operations.
- Ability to handle delicate parts.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
- Regularly exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts, ovens, and risk of burns.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
- High noise levels from operating machines.
- The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit).
- Approximately 80/20 office and shop floor environment.
- Low noise levels in office environment.
- High noise levels while working near operating machines.
- Physical hazards while working near moving equipment and mechanical parts.
- Possible breathing of fumes, odors, dust, and mist.
