The Talent
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in field service, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, or technical support.
- Experience within the oil & gas, power generation, petrochemical, marine, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Familiarity with industrial networking, Microsoft Office, and OPC communication software or similar industrial connectivity tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working at customer sites including shipyards, power plants, petrochemical plants, and other industrial facilities.
Ability to:
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial monitoring systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and system-related issues efficiently.
- Configure monitoring systems and support integration with plant automation systems.
- Deliver technical support and training to customers.
- Prepare clear service reports and technical documentation.
- Work safely and effectively in dynamic industrial environments.
The Job
Role Overview
- Provide field engineering support for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of industrial machinery condition monitoring and protection systems.
- Deliver technical expertise to ensure reliable system performance and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with customers, project teams, and internal service organizations to execute field activities safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission machinery condition monitoring and vibration protection systems at customer sites.
- Perform system setup, testing, calibration, loop checks, and commissioning activities.
- Verify installations comply with engineering specifications and safety requirements.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve issues involving:
- Vibration monitoring systems
- Machinery protection systems
- Industrial data acquisition and monitoring platforms
- Perform preventive maintenance, system health checks, repairs, calibration, and equipment replacement as required.
System Configuration
- Configure machinery monitoring hardware and software.
- Set alarm limits, trip points, and protection logic based on operational requirements.
- Support integration with plant control systems such as DCS and SCADA.
Customer Support
- Provide on-site technical support to plant engineers, maintenance teams, and operators.
- Conduct customer training on system operation and basic machinery condition monitoring.
- Prepare service reports, technical documentation, and maintenance records.
- Build strong customer relationships through professional technical support and timely issue resolution.
Work Environment
- Primarily onsite with regular travel to customer facilities across Singapore.
- Work locations include shipyards, petrochemical plants, power generation facilities, and other industrial sites.
- Fast-paced field service environment requiring hands-on technical support.
- Outdoor work in industrial environments, including occasional exposure to hot weather conditions.
- Electrical safety awareness required when working on industrial equipment.
