About the Role
Hivebotics is hiring a hands-on Field Service Engineer/Technician to support the deployment, setup, testing, and troubleshooting of our robotics systems on-site. This role is suitable for someone with strong practical electrical and mechanical skills who is comfortable working in the field, handling equipment, connecting systems, and ensuring safe deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support on-site deployment of Hivebotics robotic systems.
- Handle basic electrical and mechanical setup, including plug-and-connect, wiring checks, mounting, assembly, and system checks.
- Conduct field testing, troubleshooting, and issue reporting during deployment.
- Ensure equipment is installed and operated safely.
- Work closely with the COO, engineering team, and operations team during deployment.
- Assist with maintenance, repairs, and basic diagnostics of robotic equipment.
- Document field issues, deployment progress, and technical observations.
- Support ad hoc operational work where required during project deployment.
Requirements
- Diploma / Higher Nitec / Nitec / technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Comfortable working on-site and handling physical equipment.
- Able to read basic wiring diagrams, technical drawings, or equipment manuals.
- Practical troubleshooting mindset.
- Safety-conscious when working with machines, tools, wiring, and moving parts.
- Able to start quickly or within short notice.
- Good communication skills and willingness to work in a startup environment.
Good to Have
- Experience with robotics, automation, industrial equipment, cleaning machines, AMRs, or field service work.
- Basic knowledge of sensors, motors, batteries, controllers, or embedded systems.
- Class 3 driving license.
- Prior field deployment or customer-site support experience.
