Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical service, maintenance and troubleshooting for UPS and critical power systems.
  • Carry out installation, testing, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance of UPS and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and equipment faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Lead and coordinate site activities with customers, contractors, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Take ownership of assigned service jobs from planning and site execution through to completion and reporting.
  • Guide and support technicians and junior engineers during maintenance, testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings to ensure safe and effective execution of site works.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support and professional advice to customers.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, technical findings and recommendations following site activities.
  • Develop and review method statements, risk assessments and work procedures for assigned jobs.
  • Monitor the condition and performance of UPS systems, batteries and other critical power equipment.
  • Follow up on outstanding technical issues and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Support planned maintenance programmes, emergency call-outs, ad-hoc service works and equipment overhauls.
  • Maintain accurate technical records, service documentation and equipment history.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience in UPS, critical power, power systems, electrical equipment or industrial electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience in installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of electrical systems, with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a practical and hands-on approach.
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills, with the confidence to work directly with customers and site stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects and service activities.
  • Comfortable leading site activities and coordinating technicians, contractors and vendors when required.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites and support emergency / standby service requirements when necessary.
