Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer, you will support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of transformer and power equipment. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will help ensure equipment reliability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction while contributing to service growth opportunities.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities for transformer and power equipment.
  • Deliver high-quality technical support remotely and on-site to resolve customer issues efficiently.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and recommend improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Build strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for service, upgrades, and refurbishment solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Project teams to support customer needs and business growth.
  • Prepare service reports and technical documentation in accordance with company requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites locally and internationally as required (approximately 60-70%).
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy's values of safety and integrity in all aspects of work.

Your background

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in field service, commissioning, maintenance, testing, or related engineering activities.
  • Experience with transformers, substations, high-voltage equipment, or power systems is an advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and willing to learn.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to travel for local and international assignments.
