Field Researcher and Sales Associate

We are hiring multiple on-site Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) based in Singapore to support the market launch of a new Point of Sales (POS) payments company, built in collaboration with a major international bank.

This is not a closing sales role. The mission is to perform structured, in-person market research with SMEs and retail stores across Singapore that accept card payments such as Visa and Mastercard, as well as digital wallets.

You will visit physical stores, map their current payment setup, understand what they pay in processing fees today, and invite them to join an early interest list for a new, bank-backed acquiring solution offering improved commercial terms.

Scope of Work

You will work in the field daily, visiting SMEs and retail merchants such as:

. Food & Beverage outlets

. Beauty salons and spas

. Retail boutiques

. Medical and dental clinics

. Gyms and fitness studios

. Electronics stores

. Convenience stores

Your responsibilities include:

. Visiting stores in person across assigned districts

. Mapping each merchant's payment setup

. Identifying current acquirer and terminal provider

. Understanding what they pay in card processing fees (ranges acceptable)

. Capturing data such as terminal rental, settlement time, and accepted payment methods

. Presenting the upcoming bank-backed POS solution at a high level

. Getting merchants to opt into an early interest / waitlist

. Logging all data into our CRM system

Data Points You Will Collect

Examples include:

. Acquirer (e.g. DBS, UOB, Stripe, Adyen)

. Card brands accepted (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, UnionPay)

. Wallets accepted (GrabPay, PayNow, Alipay, etc.)

. Estimated MDR % ranges

. Terminal rental fees

. Settlement timelines

. Monthly card volume bands

. Contact details for follow-up

You are not required to obtain contracts or confidential documents. Fee ranges and estimates are sufficient for phase 1 of the project.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who are comfortable working in the field and speaking to business owners face to face. Strong fits include:

. Field sales or canvassing experience

. Telco, insurance, or merchant services background

. Retail supervisors or store managers

. Door-to-door sales reps

. Polytechnic graduates entering sales

You must be comfortable entering stores cold and initiating conversations.

Language Requirements:

. English required

. Mandarin strongly preferred

. Malay or Tamil is a plus

Engagement Structure

. On-site role based in Singapore

. Full-time or high-commitment contract preferred

. Initial engagement: 1 to 3 months

. Extension possible based on performance
